Formula & Methodology
The tool interprets your wall-clock time as observed in the source zone, converts it to a single point in time (UTC), then formats that same instant using the target zone's local rules — including any DST offset in effect on that date.
How to Use
- Set the date, time, and source time zone (or click "Use current time").
- Choose a target time zone.
- Read the converted local time and any date-rollover note below it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this tool handle daylight saving time (DST)?
It uses your browser or device’s built-in IANA time zone database via the Intl API, which already accounts for each region’s current DST rules — no offsets are hard-coded.
Why did the date change after converting?
When the time difference between two zones crosses midnight, the calendar date shifts by a day in one of the zones. This is expected and shown as noted below the result.
Are the results always accurate?
Accuracy depends on the time zone database bundled with your browser or operating system. Very old or very new DST rule changes may not be reflected until you update your browser or OS.
